Simms Guide Classic Jacket Review

Rain, Rain go away….said no one ever wearing the Simms Guide Classic Jacket.  The Guide classic is the revamped version of what was the longest running piece in the Simms product line-up. It remained virtually unchanged year after year even as other models were discontinued or altered in some way. The Guide jacket soldiered on.

Simms Classic Guide Jacket

Construction and Materials

The Guide Classic jackets are constructed of 3 layers of Gore-Tex that will ensure, no matter how heavy the rain, you will be dry!

Pockets

Pockets

The Guide Classic jacket has two large breast pockets with fleece-lined hand warmer pockets and a large inside zip pocket for important items such as keys or a fishing license.

D-Loop Ring

D-Ring Loop

The back of the jacket has a large D-Ring loop designed for attaching landing nets.

Cuffs

Cuffs

The cuffs do not absorb water and can be easily tightened to keep the water out. There is a slight overhang on the cuff as well to aid in the shedding of water.

Windproof

Windproof

Not only does the Guide Classic keep you dry, it will also help keep you warm as the jacket will block 100% of the wind. A cold wind can make you chilled to the bone so this jacket is a useful every day garment not just a rainy day garment.

Feedback

We have sold many of these jackets and have received nothing but positive feedback from our customers about the quality of the Guide Classic jacket. We can also offer the same praise from our employees who have purchased this jacket and fished it hard. The performance has been on point.

Sizing

The size availability of this jacket has the largest range of any jacket in the Simms line-up. It is available in small right up to 4 XL. The Simms Guide Classic jacket will fit all body size.  When selecting a size, we always recommend considering the layers you may be wearing underneath as a perfect-fitting jacket may become too small with a heavy sweater and a few layers for cold weather so making sure there is ample room is important.

We recommend layering up at home first before wearing a newly purchased jacket on the water to make sure of a proper fit.

Product Care

Being constructed of a breathable material, taking proper care of the garment is important for performance and longevity. While our blog post may be focused on how to maintain and clean breathable waders the care points are all relevant to a breathable jacket.

The Verdict

If a new rain jacket purchase is in the near future for you the Simms Guide Classic jacket is a choice that will not disappoint.

    Hi, friends,
Can you answer to me if Simms Guide classic jacket is made in USA or in China or Vietnam?
I live in Serbia and local Simms dealer offers this jacket made in Vietnam. So, I am not sure if it is original or some kind of fake jacket.
    Waiting for your answer,
